FALLOUT: Coming Home From the War in Iraq

A short film by Ava Lowrey about the war in Iraq and its effects on our returning troops. Pro-war or anti-war, we should all take the time to listen to what our returning troops have to say.

This a short(2 minute) film I've entered into the "Film Your Issue" contest. Please check it out and leave a comment. This is also a taste of what is to come with the full length documentary I'm working on.

It is clear to any observer that war changes those who participate. We should make sure that those we send are fighting for a worthy cause.
Keep up your effort to expose war for the destructive thing it is.

Powerful... chilling and so real. You are so amazing for such a young lady. To be so aware of what's really going on in the world. I am a TV producer myself and would welcome the opportunity to help or be a part of getting the message out. Keep up the good work!

His final words will be burned into my soul. Please don't let the warmongers and 19%ers stop you from your work. It is powerful and purposeful and someday we may all stop war and think about humanity. You are leading the way.

Having interviewed dozens of people and cut them for dozens of industrial films, I'm well aware of what it takes to weave together a cohesive narrative. You've done a great job of telling this young man's story, and summed it up with a telling and powerful statement. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your work.

So a guy sitting on a couch talking about something he appears clueless about is considered "art".

Ava, I haven't seen a new video in a while and am hoping that
you're not becoming tired of reminding people about how our troops
and the Afghanistani and Iraqi people are being treated because of this war.

I was over there too and I really don't understand what he is complaining about. We were attacked everday and I had someone actualy shot a RPG at me. That is what happens during war. As for this particular service member there are prgrams and people who he can talk to. To tell you the truth the roughest part is being 6000 miles away from the ones you love and there is nothing you can do about it.
