Both hands on the wheel

I think I've already said that for a variety of reasons I'm glad I don't drive, and frankly one of those reasons is I'm not real sure I wouldn't do something this dumb.

Woman gives driver finger, wrecks car

Giving another driver “the finger” might seem like a good idea.

But, trust us, it isn’t.

On Monday, a 23-year-old woman gave another driver the one-fingered salute on state Route 512 in Tacoma. It didn’t help. but it did make things worse.

The woman’s car ended up in a ditch. She was sent to the hospital and could face a charge of reckless driving.

( I s'pose they included the image in case we didn't know what it looked like. Inquiring minds... :D ).

KING/5 says it all began when the woman, behind the wheel of a Ford Taurus, wanted to change lanes. But a Subaru Outback was in the lane.

So instead of waiting, she extended her middle finger.

She lost control of her Taurus and hit the back of the Outback, which ran off the road and rolled over.

In addition to the Taurus’ driver, two other people were taken to the hospital. All had minor injuries.
