Ava, I have a question

Postby hwmnbn » Mon Dec 26, 2005 4:58 pm

Usually my posts have at the upper right corner "quote" "edit" "delete" options

Sometimes there are only the "quote" and "edit" options.

What is the critera for not having the "delete" option in those posts? I can't see a pattern or a time limit that would cause this behavior. :?

that's strange. i don't think there should be a delete button at all. only mods and admins have that option (i think).
i'll look into it.

DUH!! Of course, that's the pattern. And it makes so much sense now that I think about it. In fact I had consecutive posts on another thread. That's when I noticed the difference and asked my question. Thanks for clearing that up.

And here's another thing I just noticed. When I edit one my post that's been replied to, the small print notification at the bottom appears. That also makes perfect sense so people can't change their statements after the fact.

I consider this a good day already. I learned something new.

I don`t know enough to edit others post replys, lol. Bo...

Me neither, but damn, that would make arguments soooo much easier if I could control what other people say!! LOL

Wow, new buttons! Is that what Ava gave you for christmas? I guess then I'm not the only one that says "oops" a lot. I'm sure you'll master them in no time. :D

I'm gald you're back. We missed having the voice of cool, calm, collected reasoning on the board.

Don`t go thanking me to fast I could be wrong.I tried to backspace off a whole post of mine in edit,I couldn`t leave it blank the post would come back. But you can put anything in it`s place and it`s gone,I guess thats a real edit. Most times I edit my spelling or add a line or two.

And here's another thing I just noticed. When I edit one my post that's been replied to, the small print notification at the bottom appears. That also makes perfect sense so people can't change their statements after the fact.

Not in their quote reply, but you can still change your original, even after they quote reply.
I go back and and wipe some things out after a while,it would be fine with me if Ava deleted everything after it`s run and it gets a little old say a couple months.

I consider this a good day already. I learned something new.

I consider this a great day,I`m gonna post it in, I`m a biker.

I vote we stick her with this thankless task.

Hey Ava,

I've noticed we've had some guest posters recently posting those annoying spam and porn websites on this forum.

Well guess what, it is now illegal to do that without disclosing their real identity. Here's the story. Annoying is the operative word and that is so subjective.

A law just passed quietly that prohibits such behavior. I don't know how I feel about that. I reserve the right to annoy the shit out of freepers and repugs. I won't send them spam but I will say things. Personally I think enforcing this prohibition will be problematic.

Annoying someone via the Internet is now a federal crime.

It's no joke. Last Thursday, President Bush signed into law a prohibition on posting annoying Web messages or sending annoying e-mail messages without disclosing your true identity.

hate-mail smackdowns

Postby hwmnbn » Sat Feb 25, 2006 1:33 pm

I believe you posted on DU some excerpts from e-mails you've received from brain-dead bushbots. Have you considered having a page on PTC devoted to highlighting some of the more evil or stupid comments? That would give us all an opportunity to refute their arguments and laugh at their idiocy. It could be informative AND fun. LOL

It could be something similar to this. Or I'm sure you and your bro can come up with a nicer layout, but the idea is the same.

Just a thought..... :-k

Suggestion

Postby Voxpop » Sat Apr 29, 2006 7:06 pm

Hello Ava,

Thanks for all you do for peace! I have a suggestion. I'm not sure if you have read anything about PNAC --Project for a New American Centruy or not but I would love to see you do an animation about their plan for a new world order.

For those of you who are not aware of PNAC go to http://www.newamericancentury.org and enducate yourself about how long the administration had been planning to attack Iraq. As a matter of fact their entire plan is laid out there in black and white. Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, Richard Pearle, Jeb Bush, Paul Wolfawitz, John Bolton and others in the administration are members of this group.

I have a couple of suggestions.

I think the http://www.peacetakescourage.com on the back of your shirts should be more visible.

The text should be a bit larger and the color should be more visible from a distance. The light blue is nice, but you have to get right up to it to read it. I think you should make it big and bold and bright and difficult to miss.

I have the jersey that says, "If You're Not Outraged, You're Not Paying Attention" and a few friends would like it on a regular t-shirt or a tank top. I have to agree, when it's 90+ degrees out in Florida, I don't wear a jersey very often.

Other than that, I LOVE the shirts and will get more soon.

for what it's worth

How about a PTC desktop theme, with graphics and sound samples taken from the animations?

I found my way to http://www.peacetakescourage.com/wwjd.html via Democrats.com and the Huffington Post. Wow! In case anybody forgot, real men do cry.

I would love to more about the video, the kind of information that comes with more recent postings at http://www.peacetakescourage.com/page-animations.htm.

Perhaps this info is already on the site and I just don't know where to find it. So I also suggest adding a general search feature, allowing one to search on, e.g., wwjd.

New animation: "Who is Michael Savage's Audience?"

Postby Rio Madeira » Mon Nov 13, 2006 10:36 pm

Hey, Ava -

I know you don't normally discuss the punditocracy here, but I just finished writing a script for an anti-Savage animation, and I'd love it if you could give it that Peace Takes Courage touch. Say the word and I'll send the script over. (I'm also going to send it to BushFlash.com, just in case.)
